Cornish societies and cultural groups form worldwide, helping people celebrate identity and tradition in new places.

2020-2024 - Idea of Global Cornish Strengthens
As Cornwall’s economy evolves, the potential of its global community becomes clear.
Early research by Konsel Kernow (Cornwall Council), partnerships with The Diaspora Institute, and collaboration with other Celtic nations helps shape the vision.
2025 - Global Cornish Strategy
Inspired by international diaspora models, Global Cornish receives funding by Konsel Kernow (Cornwall Council) to launch the strategy and begin connecting with those who are Cornish by birth, ancestry or choice.


December 2025 - London Launch at Houses of Parliament
Brought together Cornish diaspora from culture, business, sport, academia, and communities to reconnect them with Cornwall and announce key corporate partnerships.

Global Cornish Diaspora Convention, March 2026
Diaspora Convention held at Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery, facilitated by Kingsley Aikins from The Diaspora Institute, bringing together leaders from business, charity, education and public sector to discuss Cornwall’s diaspora engagement opportunity.
2026 & Beyond - Building sustainable foundations
Establish a Steering Group to guide the initiative’s next phase, helping shape a sustainable governance and operating model that will support its long-term growth, independence and global impact.
